This Cloudburst Stool is the first collaborative furniture piece from The Cloudburst Series by local woodworkers Zac Merten and Steve Leamy. They’ve recently partnered their years of crafting with wood and other unique materials into a combined effort that seeks to amplify their unique traits as craftsmen and artisans. -More from this Series will be on display here at The Cotton Wool throughout this year.

The Cloudburst Stool is made from solid Black Walnut that has been kerf-cut and steam-bent into a contemporary form that reflects the rolling hills and plateaus of our geographical region. The unique Cloudburst Joint is made from a structural epoxy that they tinted with a note of the color in our spring clouds.

about the maker: Blending inspiration from engineering, the arts and ergonomics to create handcrafted furnishing and sculpture, Zac Merten strives to work mainly with salvaged woods and highlight the character of the found materials.
